PRESS RELEASE — April 5, 2018

The Foreign Trade Promotion Council (FTPC) announced today that H. Charles Craft III, a partner with RSM US LLP(http://rsmus.com/) (“RSM”) is a new board member. RSM US LLP is the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market. The firm serves clients around the world through RSM International, a global network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms with more than 43,000 people in over 120 countries.

The FTPC in three years has grown from a regional SENC global business supporter to play a key role in Growing NC Businesses Globally, with an expert board representing world class organizations.

Dr. John Hayes, FTPC Executive Director said, “the idea for the council grew out of a desire to better utilize the global trade resources in NC, both public and private, also to utilize the Port of Wilmington and the Wilmington International Airport as hubs for delivering NC goods worldwide. Those goals, and much more, have been accomplished. To that end the FTPC has supported the NC DOT in creating a new FTZ #214 that facilitates trade and reduces or eliminates duty and tariffs. As a partner at a world-class accounting firm, Craft brings the perspective and resources critical to navigating international taxes and tariffs facing US companies.”

The FTPC is unique in its approach to supporting Global trade by focusing on the services needed by every company in order to execute global transactions.

“Our Board now includes individuals from global companies with representation in NC and a commitment to having NC business succeed in this crucial time of competitive globalization, including: UPS, Caterpillar, JP Morgan, Hanes Brands, Brooks Pierce, NC Chamber of Commerce, Nexsen/Pruet, Port of Wilmington and ILM. “We are very excited about what Mr. Craft and RSM can do to support internationally active companies.” Hayes added.

Craft has nearly 40 years of experience providing accounting and tax services to a variety of closely held businesses, their owners and other organizations. In his current role, Craft provides leadership in the Wilmington, NC tax practice of RSM. He consults with clients on various business matters and is actively involved in designing and implementing tax planning that is responsive to their organizational and individual strategies. He has prior experience as both a partner in a regional accounting firm and as a founding shareholder of a CPA practice in Wilmington. Craft is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He graduated summa cum laude from UNC-Wilmington with a B.S. in accounting.

“I am excited to be part of the Foreign Trade Promotion Council, continuing the great momentum and vision they have started. The FTPC is a great organization to partner with as they assist businesses across the state in an effort to make North Carolina an even more impactful hub in aspects of international business,” said Craft.
